The V40 looks like it’s about to get parked yet again. The thing is running really rough all of a sudden. The only things that are old are coil packs, fuel pump and related electrical and and maybe the fuel filter, wherever that is.
The other interesting observation, since swapping the radiator, the expansion tank empties when the system is pressurised and when it is pressurised it returns to full. Never noticed that with the old radiator. Still no signs of moisture in the oil or oil in the coolant.
Hoping for some ideas. I need the car tomorrow to tow and on the weekend. Plus I’m doing a 70 km round trip commute right now that the Jaffa is not deserving of, and I also need AC ?
Thanks in advance

Coil packs would be my first place to look.
They can fail in different ways, but I've only had them fail by cracking the insulation down to the spark plug, and then the spark jumps to the head instead of across the spark plug.
I had short term success with a good clean and lots of electrical tape.

Had coil pack connectors flog out too. Worked around that by taking terminals out of plug and putting directly on.

That would explain the race car's original setup being as you describe.
It ended up breaking a terminal out of the coil, which filled my heart with joy.

@Spac would you mind if I borrowed some coil packs to test before throwing down $$ on new ones? Also what are your thoughts on my coolant issue?

Air in the cooling system somewhere that compresses under pressure.

Between @Spac and myself we’ve identified some pointers to some issues but we’ll see how it pans out. So far the coil packs solved the rough running.
