LukeEndean Hello. I’m looking at buying a 1997 S70 sedan, 86,000 km with books for my 18 yo nephew who is about to get his P Plates. Anything that I should look out for? Are the reliable? Not too expensive to service? Thanks!
Ex850R Looks minty! Welcome! Should be all fine. At this age, rubber hoses may present an issue now and again but nothing major. You don't say where you are? We can point you to independent Volvo shops who don't charge a fortune and know the cars. Parts are cheap from the USA, even considering postage. We all buy from OS if we can. Around town, these cars wear the front steering, suspension parts more than rear wheel drive cars. Strut top rubbers, drop links etc, but not hard to upgrade to better product and very rewarding. Once you drive you will appreciate the quality, safety. The sound system is a big bonus, very good! We are here to help and even one could look at it if you wanted I'm sure if close by but it sounds an excellent buy. Ohh, how much? Les
