have tried priming the pump multiple times to bring fuel pressure up if it did happen to drop. does nothing.
fuel pump and relay could be as old as the car for all I know but I have checked the pressure and after turning it off does not appear to drop at all.
All I'm getting at, when it's hot as described, being old it can fail and then cool down and work. Next step is to have it fail and be ready by seeing the fuel flow into a container as soon as it stops to see if it does work at all.
