@BigEd hi and welcome to the forums. I think if you want a runner that won't give you a lot of hassle, the best route is to go for one of the last 240s, so a '91-'93 year model. They tend to make the most power, they're computer controlled so they run nicely and make good economy, they use the better steel so they're much less likely to rust, and they're 18 years newer than the oldest 240s, so they're just the least worn out, generally.
