An 85 model may be a K-Jet B230E, but the seller claims to have done an engine swap. So it might be a idea to check it out with somebody who knows what's what with Swedish bricks. So, what James says.
$500 is a very fair price for a running, non-rego'd car in NSW. Look for the usual things - no coastal living, if there's rust in expensive-to-repair places, etc. But don't expect too much. OTOH, I picked up a 740 16V wagon for that sort of money, and it went all over the country carting car parts before the head gasket went kaput some 30,000 kays later, so you could be lucky.

The Swedes apparently never got the 242 Turbo in their market. (Bit like how OZ never got 4-pot VN Commodores with Family II EFI engines, but Enzed did). The folks wanting the 242Ts though are importing good ones from the USA now.
