The Internal Courtesy light does not trigger on the drivers or passengers doors,
Checked and cleaned both witches and reinstalled.
Replaced the globe. the rear doors triggers the internal light - there are 3 sliding positions on the overhead light - I have cleaned up the contacts all globes are ok.. and i replaced the main light with a LED - I m wondering if the overhead unit could be the problem before i start
What could be the next action How can you trace the wires -
Fuse is OK for the Courtesy lights
In the front doors the wires in the switch have no slack - how can you remove and check the internals
Im wondering if the wiring is damaged - can you run another new wire to the switch - ?
Any Ideas where the wire run up up to the dome switch overhead from the - 2 front door activation switches to check what is not working.
the door switches on the Back two doors are fine and the trigger the overhead unit with no issues,
Is there a connection to the internal light that could be disconnected - and not completing the - loop / circuit and could this be bypassed.
thanks Dean

I replaced the globe with an LED unit in the 240 and it is extremely sensitive to the door pin switches being clean. The LED draws so little current that any corrosion on the door switch contacts can cause the issue. Try swapping switches front to rear as the fronts may be worn due to getting more use....or replace switches....or swap out globe back to incandescent and see if it works with that. Hope something there helps!

Another thought -
Does your car have a delayed turn-off for the interior light? That circuit has been known to go cactus. Not sure how it works with LEDs.
240
Not sure what the 740 switches look like but I had an issue with one of the switches in the 240.
In the end, after I cleaned the switch etc, I realised that it's crucial for the screw holding the switch to the car, to be touching a little metal ring around the hole in the switch - in my case, the little rubber 'lip' around the hole just got squashed down by the screw so there was no earth connection.
Sorry if that doesn't make sense, hopefully you'll see what I mean.
(A rusty screw can also cause the same problem.)
As others suggested, also try swapping a switch rear to front.
