Oh! :(
If Mister Bear cannot take this on, I'd suggest Lupica Motor Repairs, but they're not exactly local.

AFAIC, the main problems with late model Volvos are
(1) everything is run by over-sophisticated computers;
(2) Ford had too much input into certain aspects of the design; meaning that
(3) regular software updates from the factory's dealers are now a necessary part of 21st century automotive life, because that is how they keep you tethered.
Even those rare, very gifted and talented souls who have an appreciation of mechanical hardware
and electronic software will tell you that a yearly software update at a dealer is mandatory for these cars.
That said, it may be that the faults you're experiencing relate to an issue nobody else in OZ has stumbled across until now. Meaning that it may take time to diagnose and fix. For example, the aircon fault in my wife's recently-purchased 2010 S80 V8 was an enormous learning exercise for the repairer, as nobody in OZ - including Volvo Australia - had experienced those problems before. So it took some time to sort.
