Major Ledfoot Vee_Que;111716 wroteWhat are you doing for the intake manifold? I'm guessing that Peter will build it? Seems the inlet is a two piece - or three piece, rather - affair. A manifold for each Solex, and then an adapter from them to the 16V head.
Vee_Que Oh right. Replacing the b23 manifold for the 16v manifold pictured. Hope it gets high enough compression to be worth it, at least 11:1!
carnut222 When you finish this one lemme know and I'll give you $1000 for it. I should have plenty of space by then LOL!
iceton1975 Will wait and see, we will build a turbo unit 16V next its off at the machine shop now. other parts ordered from Yoshifab
robv We just sat one upright, with the Penta head there didn't seem an easy solution to a clutch master cylinder.
Slowbrick @VolvoHordz is building a 16V turbo and I think his plan was to sit the motor upright. If his fab skills are as good as his motorbike fixing skills then it wont handle for shit but should still go alright :p
Spac This is Peter Vlandis' 16V 242GT rally car. Don't know if he modified Volvo parts or used an aftermarket clutch pedal.
Vee_Que So compression is going to be about 9.8:1? And it will be non turbo? Needs to be around 11.5:1 to be worth the effort, otherwise it's going to be a bad mannered 16v with less power than stock. Especially if the dizzy isn't going to be controlled by the stock computer.
iceton1975 Dizzy now sorted and ignition system, really just waiting for the car to be painted and drop it in
