What causes it? Worn out bushes in the rear suspension? Driveline angles not adjusted correctly?
I've got an adjustable panhard bar and torque rods so there's a mix of poly and rubber bushes. Although both my cars do it and one is pretty stock underneath.

Lowered?
That I've heard causes issue. Which makes sense as your changing the leverage ratio and angle of the trailing arms.
Vee_Que
Stiff springs binding at times. How low is the car?
GingerNinja
Both cars are a fair bit lower than a stock 245 in good condition. A few inches at least.
Vee_Que
What springs? Stock cut ones with worn shocks will be fun.
Philia_Bear
If the rear arms are going lower then parallel with the ground its going to ruin the geometry
Much the same with the front arms
240s are just not designed to be lowered all that much without significant work
Wino
My standard 240 I used to drive would tramp with stock suspension under duress... the 242 wouldn't.

Very soft stock springs help nothing
volvodriverman
The big diff bushes are often the cause, also the drive shaft jumping around in the centre bearing rubber gives the same impression.

Nah, nothing that ghetto. Eibach springs with Koni yellows. The shocks could be getting a bit tired I suppose. Rubber bushes are probably well past it. I haven't touched them since I bought the car.
Vee_Que
How are they set up? Or are reds the only adjustable ones? What rate are the springs?
Philia_Bear
Worn out bushings will cause it as well
Ex850R
Yellows in the back should be internally adjustable?
Reds just twist.
Koni's can be rebuilt too.
GingerNinja
The yellows can be adjusted but I can't remember if it changes compression or rebound. Springs are 250lb from memory. I'll order new rubber bushings and see if those help.
Vee_Que
That's stiff. The stiff DVS springs are 180lb...
Philia_Bear
250lb is pretty stiff, if your having tramp issues it points to bushings
Ex850R
I am no expert but thinking, are softer springs better to absorb some play and dampen the axle tramp?
I could be dreamin...
deleted_user_160
Could be thinking about the transfer of the tramp vibrations through the car, that a softer coil could reduce. As opposed to actually stopping or reducing the tramp it's self.

The dark art of suspension...
@AshDVS, get the voice to text going on the computer so you can reply whilst resting the broken hand?

It's not overly dark. Maybe a little grey. ;p
I suspect due to a flooded market, infinite designs, linkages, and other variables. And always the age old question. What do you want to use it for.
