Hey all,
I've noticed a few guys mention in a couple of threads that they service their auto's themselves or get it done elsewhere.
I have never received any conclusive advice on this, so would like to get some feedback. Some of you guys here seem to be a lot more knowledgeable than other people I have spoken to.
This is regarding the geartronic in the P1 cars.
-Volvo say it is sealed for life.
-Voldat say not to touch it before 120K km unless you're having issues.
-Moosetech, a Volvo tech on C30 crew forums, says if you are going to service it, do it before it reaches 100K km and do it again every 60K km after that. If it has reached 100K km, don't touch it.
-Others say don't do it unless you plan on doing it often from new.
Thread on c30 crew about this topic:
http://www.c30crew.com/forum/showthread.php?9699-Reliability-of-the-AW55/page2
So what is the consensus here? Should I be servicing the AW55?
And what is this adapting people are doing with Vida? (I might buy one off ebay).
From that day I got my car, at 60K km, when I drive it in 'manual' mode, it jolts and flares from 1st to 2nd. Shifting from 2nd to 1st is harsh.
In 'auto' mode, it is perfectly fine.
Would this be software related?
It has been doing it for over 30K km now with no change in behaviour. It hasn't got worse at all. I would have thought that if it was mechanical, it would get worse. Especially considering that the car is now tuned, thus more torque....
Any advice is appreciated.
