Major Ledfoot Doesn't look too bad from the (fuzzy) pics and the spare collection looks interesting. Like to know why it's not road registered though; the seller claims it can be driven home.
AshDVS I've had a look at this car in person and can send across some decent pics if anyone wants. * Has non-GT cluster fitted * Has large original steering wheel fitted * Considerable rust in the beaver panel * Rust around the windscreen on the drivers side. * Rear guards are very good * No visual rust in doors * No visual rust around the rear window * Has had LPG fitted at some point. * Paintwork very faded * Dent in drivers door and RF guard * Interior appears quite good While you may be able to drive it, it appears that it has been sitting for some time. I personally would trailer it anywhere more than 5mins away. I would think it's a sub $2k car, max.
gtsid This guy doesn't know what his talking about I had a look at the car it is all orginal it is 100% original never been painted or mucked around so it makes a great base for resto nothing hidden about the cluster it orginal it comes with a r sport cluster a factory upgrade there is a shit load of factory accessories, spares ,and hard to find pieces that u wish you had rust around frt windscreen is very minimal what do expect for a car of its age all books and services it was a 1owner car as for the price it's more than fair its what you would like to pay for it what do u expect a show room car for $500 as for driving it home it has had club rego and been driven on weekends no probs aswell as driving permit .
AshDVS @gtsid my assessment of your car isn't a personal attack. I didn't get to see your stash of parts, so didn't consider them in the slightest when looking at it. I've looked at a LOT of 240s over the years... and I really do mean a LOT. I've owned more than a few as well. Our business has a heavy bias in its offerings toward the 240. I'm very aware that a 242GT demands a higher price point than a normal 240. Had yours been a typical 240, in my opinion it'd be a $500 car at the most. However, it isn't. It's a great starting point for a project but it is definitely a project, and it's a fairly big one. It has rust in some of the common places (beaver panel and around the windscreen) - not difficult to address, but both need attention. It's been sitting around for a while too and hasnt been registered since 2013. As such, I wouldnt be comfortable driving it more than 5mins from it's current resting place. Last VIC rego number was ZRM 333. Standard issue plates beginning with Z were issued between 2012 and early 2014, so I would be a little surprised if this is a one-owner car. It may be that the owner got new plates at some point I guess. Based on the dot points listed above, which I am sure you cannot disagree with, to me it's a $2000 car at the very most, particularly based on whats sold in Victoria in the last 8 weeks or so. I spent about 20mins walking around it and took quite a few photos - of the good stuff (rear guards, sills, interior) and the bad stuff. If you can get more for it, awesome! Great work! If I was looking for one myself, the price isn't right for the car and I'd keep looking. If you've got a stash of rare odds and ends, it'd be worth selling these separately or making yourself available to a potential buyer to walk them through what you've got. Good luck with the sale, it's disappointing you're selling so quickly, having only picked it up late last year - it'd be nice to see a local one brought back to life.
