Interesting thing happened today. I was moving the trailer around the backyard with the xc90. My youngest daughter was in the front passenger seat. She's three and when she's out in the yard with me and I need to move the trailer she goes in the car so I know EXACTLY where she is.
Anyway I had joined up the trailer and parked it and went around to get her out of the front passenger seat. As I did I put it in Park and turned the ignition off but left the key in the barrel. I got out shut the door and as I was moving around to her door she has locked the doors by pressing the door lock knob down.
Hmm no dramas I thought I'll go inside and get the wife's keys and unlock it. Nup the remote didn't work I'm guessing as my keys were still in the barrell.
So I got the little one to climb over and hit the unlock button . I didn't try the key in the door barrel directly and I presume that would work but a little concerning that the car doors will lock from the inside if you didn't have one old enough to follow direction hit the right button!!! I'm sure many cars are like this but it's the first time this scenario has happened to me!
On a side note, touch wood my new 07 v8xc90 is still trucking along very nicely with plenty of compliments from work mates family and friends. All of who were a bit sceptical about it when I said that was what I was looking at buying.
Another thing, the 180k service is coming up. I'm looking at getting the tranny fluid changed as well as the haldex. I'm thinking of doing other fluid s at the next service unless suggested otherwise. I'm in Bendigo and am thinking I'll take it to Berry's or Voldat in Melbourne as from advice on this forum I trust then to do me right!
Sorry for the long post, didn't realise it had got y that long!!
