Just bought a low mileage V50 with impeccable service records through Volvo dealer. I mean this guy even logged when he checked tire pressures.
I'm not used to driving diesel cars and am getting used to the new engine note.
But I swear I can feel a grinding sensation through the accelerator and also from the drivers floor. Sometimes I think it is just the diesel characteristic but then I'm not so sure.
Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

Vibration maybe, grinding no. They are not the most refined engine so make a fair bit of noise accelerating, but once up and running they are OK for smoothness and cruise quietly. If you are concerned I'd be going back to the dealer on it.

Did you drive any others to compare? How many cars have you had a grinding feeling from? Was the car roadworthied when you bought it by a reputable place?

Came with a service and rego from the Volvo place here.
They said rear brake pads have 5000km left and new front ones.
Only Volvo I drove because I bought from a friends neighbour for $5000. Excellent history.
I think it is most likely Diesel engine I'm feeling.

$5,000 for a diesel is extremely low, way lower than I have ever seen one. They normally go in the $10-15,000 range depending on mileage and condition. I have only ever seen higher km petrol for that money (180,000 plus). What are the k's on it and is there anything in the history to suggest the previous owner was concerned about anything (i.e. reported it repeatedly)?

125000 km. Looks like a new car parked by my similar age commodore.
I know the vendor via my friend. He did advertise it for $12000 but told my mate he just wanted rid of it as the rego was due. He is an older retired professional with a new Volvo. Some buyer tried to online scam him and he was happy to be sold.
Logs are good. Vendor even logged tire pressure checks.
We got a good deal via a friend. I don't suspect the vendor of anything. In fact the car continues to surprise me. Today in 42c heat I discovered how to open all windows remotely. :-)
I really think it is just the diesel feel I am not used to.
Had a car once with a bad wheel bearing. This is like a 1% feel of that. Just a faint crunchy feel on acceleration. But the engine is loudest on acceleration so is probably part of that.
Chris
Sounds like an absolute steal then :)

It is roughest on acceleration.
