Hi, you're in Townsville.
Did you happen to saunter down to view the car owned by the folk from Maggie?
The rust spots.....are they holes? The faded paint....is it powder? Metallic paint or solid?
Maybe it is a good one? Though it still appears for sale, hmm.
What say ye cap'n a?
Yeah, I'm kinda innerested, if it's a cracker, worthy of saving.
captain_anchovy
I asked about the rust spots and they said they weren't holes. Ill see if its still available and takes a Butchers at it.
Where are you?
deleted_user_1622
Thanks, I had wondered if you'd laid your eyes over its form.
Living far away, more's the pity. Hobart, the other planet.
Were it worthy, worth the trip , then let the adventure begin.
However I'll say, a manual vehicle is for me important. Simpler the better.
Sure, conversion is possible provided the parts are available.
Like I said, if it's a cracker.
Possibly I read too much into the chosen few words of the seller.
The car appears uncared for, with no decent images or description.
Life's too busy on "Maggie".
Sure appreciate the prompt reply and generous offer to assist.
I would offer the same for here. Whilst the net is swift, the distance remains daunting for most.
captain_anchovy
The tyranny of distance. Well car still for sale.
Vendors not replied as yet as to where when car can be viewed. Perhaps they only come to mainland couple of times a week.

I've messaged you, thanks.
Yes, the swiftness of communications is rarely matched with action.
This instance would appear to be the exception.
When the advert initially appeared, I attempted contact without success.
Possibly my admission to living in a land far away diluted the sellers eagerness to respond.
captain_anchovy
Will vigorously pursue the vendors. No stone will be left unturned , no bottle left un drunk till they offer large bundles of $ for me to take car.
deleted_user_1622
That's the spirit, or the liquid amber of your choosing.
No need to draw them down to penniless. Unless sheer neglect has them deserving of a withering stare.
My thanks are sincere.
captain_anchovy
Meeting tentatively set up for Tuesday. Place and time not specified.
deleted_user_1622
Crikey, Cap'n, hold the oars and communications with the Maggie dwellers, it seems an old mate has remembered me here in the deep South.
I look to venture forth into the bush this very day, afternoon indeed.
captain_anchovy
Fox hunting?
Pink jacket, pack of hounds etc. ?
deleted_user_1622
Fox foraging; cardi with suede patches ( it's cooler down here) and
one blue varietal heeler posing as hound.
'Tis not a perfect vehicle by any means, but one heck of a lot closer to the lodge.
Dash it all, must cease this effervescing from the lips.
Toodle pip. ;)

Fox hunting?
Pink jacket, pack of hounds etc. ?
well if im offered a view on Tuesday do you want me to look at car ?
deleted_user_1622
Thanks. After looking at carnut1100' 245L I'm torn. The 245L is not a happy bunny, currently contemplating its rescue.
Provided it is convenient for you to look at the car it would be appreciated.
If it turns out to be a juggle and you're time poor, then let it pass.
I'm grateful for your response.
captain_anchovy
Vendors not responding to txts. About time /place to view. Cannot understand why people advertise things for sale then go all dithery when pressed to inspect. IMHO if you advertise something it should be available to be viewed NOW.
Nosi
In December there was a flathood parked in the carpark, between the entertainment centre and the ferry port. I didn't get time to stalk it then, but makes sense that magpie island folk would park there.
