G'day all,
Last Thursday I unfortunated went to drive home after work and when I turned the car on, was greeted with the following:
History
- Have done 2x flushes of the auto trans fluid, about a month apart each, probably 6 months ago.
- Have always used 98 since getting it, with the exception of this very tank, where I was almost out and 98 wasn't available :( Used Shell 95 instead.
- ABS light popped up a week ago, unrelated to this but just haven't replaced the module yet.
Symptoms
- Auto shifts through all gears as normal, though is jerky with upshifts, but is predictable at the points that it shifts at
- No other noticeable symptoms
Using
Volvo850Diag + Bluetooth ELM327, I was able to pull the codes on the ECU, and got the following:
>03
43 01 20 00 00 00 00
------ OBDII Emission DTCs...................... P0120
>AE01
BUS INIT: ...OK
85 13 01 EE 01 30 31 E9
------ ECU 01 has 2 DTCs: 30 31
------ ECU 01 DTC #1: 30 -> ABS-313 -- Left Rear Wheel Sensor, open/short [or bad ABS module solders or ignition switch].
------ ECU 01 DTC #2: 31 -> ABS-323 -- Left Rear Wheel Sensor, irregular > 25 mph (ie, interference or excess oscillation > 40 km/h) [or bad ABS module solders or ignition switch].
>AE01
BUS INIT: ...OK
83 13 58 EE 01 DD
------ ECU 58 has 0 DTCs.
>AE01
BUS INIT: ...OK
84 13 6E EE 01 17 0B
------ ECU 6E has 1 DTC: 17
------ ECU 6E DTC #1: 17 -> AT-??? -- DTC 17.
The two ABS ones are no surprise, but for the CEL + Flashing arrow, I'd say that the P0120 is the culprit from what I can determine as well as maybe the ECU 6E (Auto trans) code is about. I've had a quick look for the possible issues and it looks like it might be an issue with the Throttlebody and/or the TPS?
Any thoughts? Hoping it's not new transmission time but I'm preparing myself for that possibility. Throttle body makes sense for the symptoms and hopefully isn't an expensive replacement in case it is.
