Just after a kjet fuel pump relay for my '82 244. Number on top is 89 81 60, PN: 3523639, Stribel branded but dont mind if its an aftermarket Uro or other brand.
Thanks

I can send you two of them for $30 including postage, that way you've got a spare. Send me a PM if interested.

Sourced from Angus, thanks!

Glad to see that you sourced a good one.
I feel bad because I sold @Biggles a fuel pump relay which I took out of a running car - literally straight after driving it - so I knew it worked. But he said he can't get it to work in either of his cars. I know not much can be done about it now but any suggestions as to why this is the case? Can they be easily damaged internally?

The main thing that happens to them is the solder joints on the circuit board inside can crack, because the actual relay coils inside are fairly heavy, years of vibration from driving can eventually fatigue the solder and cause cracks.
It's possible that your relay had some cracks but never caused a problem for you, but perhaps it was handled roughly in the mail or something and a crack opened up enough to cause an open circuit.
They can sometimes be repaired by reflowing the solder joints.

I guess that could possibly be what happened then - I had it sitting in a bag with other relays, maybe it just reached the 'tipping point'.
Although it was dated 2002 - I know it's common for relays to fail after 25 years or whatever but this was only 14 years old...

That is a pretty short life for one, is it possible that it was the wrong part number for Jacob's application, perhaps it was actually from an LH-Jet model? They have the same pins and can be plugged in, but internally they work differently.

He confirmed that they both had identical part numbers. It was definitely from a k-jet car (1985, B230E and the relay was green).

Sounds like it was the correct type then, that it a bit strange.

Some mechanics can be very creative and muck with the wiring before the relay to get a different model relay going. Any sign of this and is mayhem for future owners.
