Spac After 21 or 22 years of 240 ownership, and probably 50 or more of them, the last one went a couple of weeks ago. I lasted three days before putting a deposit on this one... It was elliotwilly's car. 88 240GL, B230F+T, M47. It's got some King springs, a big swaybar in the back, and not much else done to it. I'm quite happy with it. Compared to the S40 T4, the S40 wins on virtually everything that matters (performance, handling, fuel economy, etc) and plenty of things that don't matter. The 240's advantages are few: rearward visibility; boot size; and um... The main reason I own it is because it's a 240. And that's enough. :) So far I've swapped the steering wheel for an old, flat-dish Momo I had paying around (the deep-dish wheel that was on it made the driving position too cramped), and lubing the bonnet catch & hinges. Still to do is some bigger wheels, find & fix the clunk in the rear end (shock absorber, I think), fit the S5 RX-7 seats that have been sitting in my shed for about ten years, and fit a bigger exhaust.
Spac Server responded with 0 code. In other news, the brake pedal went soft today. No warning light. Feels like it's dropped a circuit in the master cylinder. Needs investigation over the weekend. Also was reminded about 240 visibility this arvo when I got booked for being on my phone while driving it... I can bitch and moan, but the $319 fine works out at about 0.001c per kilometre. :/
Philia_Bear Fail on using the mobile while driving Reminds me i need to get a new phone holder before i get booked
Spac Moved it in the driveway last night. Brake pedal was perfectly fine. *sigh* Can this be anything other than a dicky master cylinder?
Philia_Bear egads;76995 wroteI seriously love the beige/greige on a 240. I am odd though. Salutes captain blond beard
lasercowboy Yup - my old housemate had a GLT in charcoal grey, all black outer trim, black leather interior, M47 with B230E. Sex on four wheels.
