Onto day 5 with the reconditioned radiator.
The top edge cover has come off thanks to the vibration from the bracket for the auto transmission cooling lines. So I have go back and get that fixed.
And now the heater tap has leaked coolant into the interior, and under the carpet.
Firstly, how should I clean it up? Will the coolant dye ruin the carpet or can it be steam cleaned out?
Secondly, now that the late 140 and 240 heater taps are no longer available, how do put in a replacement generic one?
Thanks!

If not dry, I've washed mine out, out of the car.

Not dry. Sounds like a good idea. Thanks

Yeah get it on the clothesline, hose it - careful with the pressure to start with so you don't blast a tear in the carpet. Put the nozzle on spray first and try soak everywhere that it hasn't stained, so as the coolant runs over those areas when you get to it, it's easy to keep it wet-down so it won't stain anything new.
But if it does stain and the carpet is in otherwise good condition... leave it in water until you can do some research, so the stain doesn't set. Maybe you'll need bleach it to reduce the stain/colour of the carpet itself (so it's all about the same shade), then look up how to dye carpet (search for "how to dye your own fabric" or similar). Read a few sites. I think you then 'fix' the dye using salt. Search for what dilution strength the bleach should be first too... I think I bleached some clothing too-strong years ago and it worked great but it soon fell apart.

Thanks for the tips @familyman. Certainly annoying with orange carpet, if it was dark blue or black, I wouldn't be so concerned.

Well, dying black is always an option. Or tiger stripes! ;-p

I can get brand new moulded carpet in black, but it does spoil the originalness of the car if I do that, but that said, it certainly wouldn't look out of place, considering the floor mats and dash and other trims are black, and the door skins have black along the top.

Hopefully, this may assist.

Pulled up the carpet in the Jaffa today. I didn't do it yesterday as I've been unwell the last day or so.
Anyway, the carpet has dried out and there's no staining to it from the coolant. I am now drying out the underlay / soundproofing.
The rest of it has been mopped up, but considering borrowing a hair dryer to accelerate the drying process of the soundproofing / underlay.
