gavinh Well i brought this off gumtree a month or so ago for the pricely sum of $500 and it look abit different and had seen better days, sofar i have a completeish interior, fitted a new clutch, new springs and a exhaust system. It will require welding in the usual places, spare whell well around the rear quater windows, windscreen valance panel. The engine runs sweet, just req's a tune. Still reqs afew parts which are not so easy to fine second hand, rear calipers, clutch slave cylinder, drivers side window winder (manual type). Would love a nice interior in dark or black leather. Sofar enjoying working on it as i use to play with 240s in the uk about 10/15 years ago. Gav
bigal Nice one. What are your plans for it? My brother has the exact same in white. I like the square headlights.
Ghettobird That's testament to them, an EX-Burnout car that still has it in her to be restored. Love it!
gavinh I want to keep it shabby looking on the outside and have everything working and running, would love to get a b230 turbo in it or even a white block. But first thing is to get it on the road, replace all the rear polly bushes as there shagged, and get the all the other stuff sorted on it
gavinh Over here in Perth, there doesn't seem to be to much over here. Everone seem to be more concerned with holdens and fords. Even to get the small parts like the rear vertical reverse lense seems to be next to near impossible or the clutch slave cylinder.
BradC Perth is a bit of a Volvo vacuum. One wrecker who sees you coming for miles and dealer prices that seriously take the piss.
gavinh Aye, its bad over here, just as cheap buying whole cars and taking what you want off them and then scrapping it. Sad really
familyman I didn't even know you could get the reverse lens here. I get everything other than oil and air filters, from overseas. (Well - when I do buy stuff - which isn't often nowdays.) IPD, FCP, ebay, etc...
gavinh Well on the hunt for parts I picked up a complete 85 244 in original condition, elderly lady owner it's a B230 4speed with od, paint is perfect minus a couple of flaking bits. So it looks like the black car will becoming a parts car unfortunately as I don't have the time or space for both. If anyone is after a custom grill give us a shout
gavinh Well I dropped the old girl today and some of yesterday and she looks the better for it, swappd over the disk and calipers as it had solid front disks? For an 85 which I thought was strange and bolted on a 240 turbo exhaust. From memory I remember the timing should be set for 10 deg is this correct? Cheers gav The
egads Oooh, nice idea on the concrete for a car slab. Going to nick that. What base did you use for it?
gavinh Sorry man you lost me, slabs, the base is years of compated sand and loads of water just to make sure.
gavinh So been wondering what these are for, seems to be a loose ground and a couple of others relay connection. Has any one any ideas. I should really invest in a manual. Sorry these are under the steering wheel
gavinh So finally got the car to the pits today.......it failed, no surprise really. But it's all small things, so quiet happy really. Here is a photo of the list
