OldnDecrepit After successfully swapping my steering wheel in my 960, the next task for me is connecting up my transmission cooler, bypassing the one in the radiator. Once disconnected from the radiator the pipes are near where they need to be but not quite. Has anyone had experience with bending these pipes? Do they bend easily or will they snap? The ends just need to be moved 3-4 inches so that I can attach some suitable hose fittings to run to the cooler mounted in front of the condenser. Thanks.

OldnDecrepit Transmission places here charge too much - $400 to install a cooler (and I supplied the cooler!).
BradC They're plated steel. You can bend them quite a bit before they'll work harden and snap. Just use gentle force and a large radius so you don't kink them. Kinking them is pretty hard to do also unless you're a ham fisted hack. If you want to cut them, get a tube cutter from Bunnings (same as used for copper). Makes a very clean cut and no swarf. I cut mine and used a compression fitting to put a hose barb on the end of each one for the cooler hoses.
