1982 244gl when bonnet is shut it sits a bit higher near hinges why I have seen this on many is It cause hinges are to stiff

Question: if you push down on the bonnet where the hinges are, does that make it align properly?
Anthony
Agree it's a quirk, with bonnet down but sitting a bit proud, it seems to be due to the lever action and the mega spring exerting so much force horizontally but zilch pulling down.
Nearly all other manufacturers use no springs on pivots, just a soft strut mounted a long way fwd or only a support rod that you place up manually.
I don't think the typical pivot point that much play in it, but a combination it adds up.
Fiddling and understanding the adjust points has it's rewards and frustrations, I use a bit of coloured tape so I only move it a set amount.

Back hinges could be playing up. Make sure they are both running nice and free.
When they start seizing up this happens.
