Thanks heaps for this recommendation guys. I just spoke to the guys at Lupica today about servicing my V60 and C30 after getting a quote of $1400 to service an MY11 C30 with 11,000kms on it!

The C30 will need a dealer visit of some sort to get all the recalls and software updates done.
Hounddub
Quick thanks to you all for the recommendation of Lupica Motors. Took the C30 there for its first ever service tis week, Jo was brilliant. So honest, so knowledgable, so reasonably priced.
I even told him the Volvo dealership quote for service was $1450 and he came back with $387.
Turns out that other than an oil and filter change there's nothing else to do on the C30. I'll be taking both my cars there from now on. dealer service is simply a joke by comparison.
Philia_Bear
You want to also change the cabin air filter at the same interval of the oil filter
Slowbrick
Yep Jo is an awesome guy! Tell him Ryan said hi!

Can Lupica do dealer software stuff?
Hounddub
They had some updates for the C30.

$387 for an oil change and filter?
Valvoline Synthetic Oil 0w30 - $70
Mann Filter - $8 on a bulk buy
new oil plug washer - 0.20c
Total parts cost $78.20
387 less 78 = 309
So $309 for 20 minutes labour & oil disposal ?
Did he do anything else?
My mechanic charges me $80 an hour.
And lets me use his hoists on a saturday morning if there is any diy stuff I need to check.
Popped in one saturday with new control arms for daughter's c30 and he gave me a hand swapping them over.
I gave him $80 and he was happy with that.
Doing it on a hoist with his help was a s**t load easier than doing it on the ground.

^all very well if you can or want to do things yourself.....
Getting everything checked by an expert is a good idea too.
I don't think 80 bux has been the rate for a long time...

Yup, $120 an hour is mostly what I have got from workshops. An oil change including a general poke around and checking VIDA would easily be 40 mins surely

A proper vida subscription that would be nice for newer cars
But when cars are old there aren't any software updates available anyway.
But I find having the dodgy version of VIDA very handy.
The remove and install instructions and diagrams and pictures on VIDA have been very useful and the ability to find exact part numbers and verify model to model compatibility is very handy.
