I have a cast manifold with a twin scroll T3 flange for a non-Volvo project. I haven't been able to find a T3 .48 internally wastegated exhaust housing. Is it OK to run a standard T3 on this manifold? Would it cause the turbo to spool up later?

Is this for the Hilux? Why not go for a slightly larger housing? But it should be fine.

Yeah it is. Ideally I'd like full boost by 2000 rpm or so.

Good luck with that. seriously. Because to make that happen you would need a gt25r turbo.. I had the.. 48 housing in mine and it made boost around then but not full pressure.

Thanks. So generally speaking, is using a single scroll turbo on a manifold designed for twin scroll a bad idea?
Vee_Que
You can remove some of the sectioning? That will make it easier!

It might not be optimal but it is certainly not a bad thing - as long as they are both t3 size flanges. It just means that the exhaust converges in your turbine housing now rather than in your manifold - perhaps even an advantage as similarly timed pulses are separated more.
It is more an issue when doing the reverse from my understanding, that is, running a twin scroll turbo on a non divided manifold. But even then, it just spools a few hundred rpm later.
Definately not something I would worry too much about.
