I will need to buy some new tyres if I pick up the 760GLE I have been looking at in Caloundra, Qld. The tyres on the car are 195/65/15.
The nearest tyre places are Tyrepower, Bridgestone and Bob Janes. I'll be on a permit and the tyres are NOT legal so new one are needed ASAP.
Any recommendations for tyre choice? Any ones to stay away from. I will probably need all four, so I was thinking of Bridgestone as they have a 4 for the price of 3 deal. That's Bridgestone Turanza Serenity 205/60/R15 for $355.

Turunzas are good enough if you don't drive hard. But if its a 88 on. 60 profile is the wrong size.

It's an 87 and I think there's 65s on it now. Does that sound right?

I had 205/60/15 on mine the bridgestone re001 best tyre I had had on this type of car. Not sure how the new model stacks up.

Is it a facelift model with irs? They were built from July 87 on.

I second Bridgestone RE002S as Nick said , they are better than the 001s.
If you can get Michelin PS3s in that size , DO IT! Way better than the RE002S...

Yes it is a facelift model. The earlier one had the single beam headlight front and the b28 with kjet.
Correct tyre size is 195/65/15 just like your other cars. But you should be able to drive it home on a permit as is, selling the rims?
OldnDecrepit
Decided against buying it.
Couldn't drive it home on a permit as the tyres were shot, one was showing steel belts!
Car transporter wanted $350 to move it from the Sunshine Coast to the Gold Coast.
By the way, I've got 205/60/15 on my 740's Rigels.

And I had the turanza t001s on my wagon. Good tyre for the price, I'm guessing you won't be driving it like a sports car, they are a good compromise. Ps3 and r003s as they are now, are worn out within 20,000km

$355 for 4 brand new tyres??!! That's a super duper deal! Got Turanza ER300 on my sister's AH Astra, grips well on the road. RE00x Adrenalins are good "max performance" street tyre but treadwear rating only 180 I think (for RE002s) vs 250-300 for standard comfort tyres.
If you're just buying the tyres to pass roadworthy just hit up the closest junkyard
