Hey guys, any recommendations on a decent but cheap arc welder?

As a welder i would say ye get what ye pay for.
BUT , go to Bunnings and buy what you want , at least its easy for warranty.
OR , $$ , Kemppi.....

What do you want to weld with it?
I'm a big fan of any of the digital arc welders at Bunnings or on evilbay
Also if you want any duty cycle find something with a fan
If just basic welding
The 99 units work fine

The inverter units are sweet...light, stable arc, often have TIG function with optional extra leads albeit DC only so no alloy welding.
Def check the duty cycle.
Mind you, can make do with almost anything...im using a 25 year old CIG Compact with only two amperage settings and no other adjustment....gotta work a bit harder for a decent job with it, but ive used it to weld a rusty motorbike exhaust.....which i will admit was a major pain in the arse of a job!!!

Hard to recommend cheap welders imo. They ask come from the same factory. Inverter arc is your friend, but its not good for much more than farm jobs imo.

Don't believe ANYTHING they say about duty cycle , what they purport to weld etc. Cheap is cheap and warranty is all you want , Bunnibgs is always open , will exchange , anywhere else is too hard.

Kemppi.
Go proper.
