Hi,
I have an check engine light (in amber) on my dash. I know that these things can show up for heaps of reasons. As I don't have a OBD2 scan tool yet I'm wondering if there is another way to find out what the warning could be from.

Check the gas cap

I did read this on another forum so I did do that an POW!! @Rob‌ I wonder if it's the reason for the last warning I had....all the more reason you should quit your job and be my personal mechanic.
Rob
I could do that.
can I work from home?

The normal issue is the fuel pressure sensor on the end of the fuel rail this will bring on the engine light

Ok....so does this indicate the sensor is faulty or just be over sensitive?

It can be over sensitive, we replace the unit and the fault goes

Cheers mate. I'll run the scan tool on it to make sure it is the problem and replace it if it is.

One light on the dash can mean a lot of things as you first mentioned in your topic so without any scan tool you are only guessing!
If Rob can help thats great otherwise Peer at GLT will be very happy to help out I am sure.....
