zzdhalla Those of you who've been frustrated by my attempts to pass on my 164E will.. I hope be glad to know it is heading back towards the road. Loverly to be doing a job like replacing clutch pipes and find the required spares in my buggery box. Now clutch done. Front antisway fitted. Initial aim mobility. Rear sway awaiting... GT dash to fit. Next the injection..... next sorting .. suppose it freaks me a bit. I'll get over it. Anyone converted one to megasqiurt? Debating fitting the 6 bolt 5 speed conversion - steel toyota box... ...... Then tarting and interior retrim.. then wheels other stuff..
zzdhalla Well injection is - sorted to a running state and I can now move the car round the yard. Great leap forward :-(. The fuel pump and pre-filter sit in the old fuel-pump tin bucket at the back. I moved the main fuel filter to the engine bay. Slow progress but progress. Oh I used 98 octane and added fuel preservative. Found this works with the 145s in Tassie for up to 3 months at a time.
egads Using it in the 144 and 145 here too and is lasting really, really well. The 144's tank of 98 is almost a year old and still runs great and the fuel looks and smells like it should even after a good swoosh around from going around the block.
zzdhalla Yes that off fuel smell is distinctive. Hard to wash off clothing or yourself. A good reason to use viton gloves when mucking with fuel.
zzdhalla Just passing the Orange 145 on to a friend so I can now concerntrate my Qbyn efforts on the 164. Here for a month so I'll post a few updates.
zzdhalla Frustrating weekend. Reaping the benifits of being away and forgetting to put fuel preservative in the system. Had to drain the tank. Putrid ugh. Can still smell it. Rerouting the fuel pump and futting a prefilter as Im concerned the tank still has residuel gunk in it. Moved the main filter to the engine bay wall to give some room.
driedle Nothing like the smell (stench) of really old fuel to remind you that gasoline really does come from dead dinasours... :) Dave Riedle
zzdhalla Office today. Draining old fuel and cleaning out tank, filling tow bar, Susing out a "mostach" bumper bar...
zzdhalla Ok When did these holes in the dash skirt start? That allow you to fit the center dash console
