This is all they show for the V50. I think the PCV fits onto the oil filter housing on that model, but I'm not sure. I'll need to check that out.
I do like the catch can idea because it can be remotely located, but I do take the point that the vapour will condensate and gunk up the tube. However the oil separator gunk up too, and its such a pain to remove, nye on impossible to clean/service, and thats one of the reasons its so neglected on most cars. Usually until it's on the verge of being too late!
My car was a using the dipstick tube as a virtual chimney when I bought it. Probably never serviced. I managed to unblock it in situe and clean the tubes and trap, as a temporary measure.
I now want to replace it on the 960 when I do the valve stem seals, vacuum lines and other stuff, and try to get oil consumption to an acceptable level(what ever that is for a 310,000km 960).
The 2006 V50 is over due for its PCV to be serviced as well. Its now done roughly 130,000 kms, mostly freeway driving from the Mornington Peninsula to the Melbourne airport and back.
Like to keep the V50 in tip top shape as it will be an expensive repair (just for the labour factor alone), if anything is left unserviced!!!
