No idea why snoppy loves the t6 so much, i dislike it
V50 is large and far one of the most reliable Volvo's in eons
P1 based platform
Relative to the v50 models, and in order of reliability
2.4i FWD manual
T5 FWD manual
2.4i awd manual
T5 awd manual
2.4i fwd auto
T5 fwd auto
2.4i awd auto
t5 awd auto
the worst of these put the p3 based v60 to shame
(having to do the coupler for the alt is more exxy than all of the known issues combined on p1 car)
Notes
Fuel pressure sensor on the fuel rail
$100, super easy to replace
AFM (air flow meter)
$100, super easy to replace
Front suspension
May need sway bar links if not done recently
Everything front suspension is shared with Ford locust and Mazda 3 of same era so parts are dirt cheap
If 2.4i
May need the pcv, this is combined with the oil filter housing, only needs to be done if never done before
Awd... just do the maitenance (same as on the v60t6) means changing/flushing
Trans fluid
Haldex fluid
Angle gear fluid
Diff oil
Windshield
Factory glue was improperly applied at one factory and leaks appear over time
Have glass replaced with new and no issues ever again
Sunroof
Avoid at all costs on any volvo
Sunroofs leak... end of discussion... avoid having one
Lines are known to clog and volvo used cheap vinyl hoses
Blowing out the lines and replacing the hoses is sub $250
