I’m replacing the engine mounts on my 1978 244 rally car with heavy duty ones from Yoshifab. The new Yoshi ones look like144 ones ie a rubber centre with effectively a threaded shaft through the middle.
The old ones are different. Both have locating lugs - not worried about them - but the left one has the mounting shafts offset and the locating lugs effectively in the middle.
I’m looking for advice: it seems ok to enlarge the mounting lug holes so I can put the new mounts through them, which would put the mounts in the same place as the old ones, just located differently.
Any ideas why Volvo did it the way they find? Any problems doing it the other way?
