SA car, 275,000 kms, registered in SA until 09/12/20Appears to be Super Touring edition based on thread on this forum, has correct wheels and interior trim, has booksSunroof (works well, no leaks)Climate control AC (heating and cooling both work well - dash blower fan clicks for 10 secs or so when car is started)Stock CD/radio all works well, rear speakers have been replacedBlack exterior, usual extensive clear coat loss, minor scratches/dings - have not found any rust. Roof trim strips are currently off the car half restored from peeling paintBlack leather interior, reasonable/good condition for age/kmsCarpets, headlining, dash, rest of interior also in reasonable/good conditionSpare tyre, tools, reflector, jack etc all present in boot1 key only with no fob, central locking works using key in doorAuto aerial doesnt retract, stays up, radio works fineTyres OK, fronts will need replacing first and probably soonAll lights workingStarts, drives, stops great. Pretty quick and enjoyable on boostOccasionally pops out of 2nd gear in specific situation, coasting/braking downhill, unsure if engine/trans mounts or something inside box. Indicator currently doesnt cancel, have another stalk assembly included to be installedNoisy front suspension, probably strut tops or other bushes somewhere in there. Its a good reliable car, couple of minor niggles easily fixed but needs serious attention to the paint to bring it back to past glory if required.
The good points outweigh the bad so it would be worth the effort IMO, and was part of my plan until I realised that all the cars I have are not driveable by my soon to be P platers. Obviously keen to keep everyone in Volvo's but need to look back towards the slow and steady end rather than the hi pressure turbos and V8's.
Imagining possible swaps for similar age S/V40's or older models - let me know what youve got, also open to straight sale.
