morch_66479 Latest update:
I had another crack at getting it out, it's impossible with everything intact so i tried to remove the down pipe but stripped the top of a bolt :-/
Then i tried to remove the oil filter but i must have used my super powers to twist it on because i broke my filter removal tool.
I'm hoping that i can get the filter off and get it out through the front. I'll update after I have another play during the week...
Tight oil filters aren't much fun.
An old trick I've used (You will need to have a new oil filter handy!) , provided there is enough room, is to hammer a good sized flathead screw driver into the filter. You will want to not have the screwdriver go in too close to the block, as you dont want to strike the outlet where the filter screws onto.
If the screwdriver is big enough, it may have enough leverage to simply use it as a lever to crack the filter loose, if not gentle sideways (in a counter clockwise direction) to help loosen it
Or if you can source an oil filter cup tool, such as the one below, that would be your best bet, allows you to remove filters with no damage
