XC 90 D5 Oil

edited June 2014 in Troubleshooting
Hi there
trying to find some oil here in Perth for my XC 90 D5, specs ACEA A5/B5 SAE 0W-30, or anywhere in Australia.
Shipping from US is expensive and free shipping does not apply :(

Look at 5-30 in the same spec

We use castrol edge pro 5w30 LL3 at work

Edge OE-X is recommended but ll3 meets a higher spec

    Retail castrol netlube http://www.datateck.com.au/lube/castr_au/

Google will find your preferred oil brands equivalent
Not enough speed, too ugly guy....
  • And refill capacity is 5.8l, not 6.2

Should be half way up the dipstick, the make oil during a dpf regen
  • Otherwise
    Penrite HPR 10w50 Full Syn
I think you need to add i was in an s80 with three wheels getting pulled backwards and was told to "hold on shit is about to get real".

Yes. Do not fill it up to the full line on the dipstick. That turns on engine lights. Found that out first hand.

I use this in mine BTW.

What rob has is great for ask modern diesels. 0w is too thin for here anyway.
  • I've bought both Castrol edge & Penrite 0w-40w here in Canberra for my 2007 XC 2.5T @ $70 and no issues. Repco hold the 5w-30w in stock and I normally have to order the zero. I go up to the snow so often my car is parked at zero or sub temperatures.

    Motorcycle: 2009 BMW F700GS

  • Can I use Castrol Edge 5w-30 LL for my 2008 xc90 D5
  • More importantly change it every six months
