XC70 OEM repair procedures

So, I have hit a bit of a stumbling block with getting the XC70 back on the road. The guys at Hume would like to see evidence that the OEM repair procedures have been followed. I have yet to have a dig through ViDA but does anyone have access to the the repair procedure or methodology? Happy to pay a couple of $$ for the product so that I can use it for a reference.

This thing is too neat to scrap, even if it is the most unloved of the volvo family. The damage is superficial and constrained to the very edge of the spare tyre well so I am not concerned but they require more evidence.

Worst case if required I have access to another rear section that I can have fitted if needed.




  • So I have found the repair procedure in ViDA but the way it is written is that the assumption is that you have bent everything behind the spare wheel well. This means that you have to cut all that off to replace the wheel well, which I am sure you can't even get anymore and then stick the good bits that you just cut off back on.

    I am trying to see if I can find a panel shop to sign off on the fact that it is not structural (even though the WOVR report says that it is) As an engineer apparently I can't do that even though I know it to be true.

    I should know by the end of the week if it can be done otherwise there will be a mint XC70 for sale that can be parted out....
