I have a leaking 240 rack, the rack itself is good but the seals aren't. Does anyone here have the knowledge to rebuild it? I would rather have it done privately than at a shop
@jamesinc and @VolvoHordz
Otherwise Sydney driveshaft near blacktown do rebuilds and new units for very resonable price
Thank you for that, I've bought things from Brendan before and I live near him
If he's unable to help, I'll enlist it to James
I haven't rebuilt one yet but something I've looked into and should be able to do. I have a couple awaiting rebuild.
I havent figured out where to buy a seal kit yet though?
Does a seal kit exist? Otherwise we'd have to buy them one by one
And the boots too
I've not rebuilt one. I've seen seal kits on eBay but nowhere else really. They must be out there somewhere. Before going to the effort just check that the shaft of the hydraulic ram has no damage to the chrome plating, rust, corrosion etc. That's often what causes the seals to go. You can get them polished and re-plated but it's about $300 last I checked (which was admittedly like five years ago).
My mother in law is like a torture "rack", and there is no way Id be reconditioning her, for a "prolonged life". :-)
Does she at least come with a nice one?
weapons of mass destruction.
Skandix has the seal kits
Who wants the job?
Do we have ZF racks in Australia? I only ever seem to see the TRW racks
Cam gear too up to 1987
