Hi there
This is my first post here and I'd like to ask for your advice about Volvo Australia and how they handled this issue.
Last Monday, just two weeks after the 1st year service (10k kms) my XC90 T6 broke down and it was towed to the Volvo service with transmissions problems. It turned out that it needs new angle gear (#36003103) and tail shaft (#31492144) and these need to be ordered from Sweden, so my car will be in service for 3-4 weeks.
I'm worried that if the transmission broke down after 10k kms, what else will go wrong during the warranty period and after that. I'm also curious how much value the car lost with this repair in its service records. The service told me that they (obviously) use OEM parts and that I shouldn't be worried about lost value, but I'm not sure if that's true.
If try I to sell the car after 3-4 years and mine has a transmission repair in its service record and other XC90s don't, then it's obviously a bad sign.
I'm simply worried about the transmission that now will have new parts and will be put together locally.
I was hoping to get extended warranty for the car but it wasn't offered by the service.
Let me know what you think. Maybe I worry too much about this but I didn't have as much problem with my other cars that I had with this one year old XC90.
