Are they new? It's old. All old cars need new vacuum lines

  • It got a rebuild roughly 5 years ago an everything got changed so there not too old an I haven't checked for codes as don't have a scan reader
  • I have noticed a bit of pressure in the head I put a rag wrapped around the oil cap 24hrs ago an checked it just before an its black an soaked with oil so I'm almost guessing it might be a ring problem

What year is the 940? Aren't pre 1995 cars OBD1?
Oil will splash up to your oil cap under normal conditions. Testing the rings will require a dry and wet compression test or leak down test.
Try disconnecting the idle air control valve and see if the idle returns to normal or drops lower than normal.

You don't need one. There should be a code reader in the engine bay. See the link for details.

It's basic, but it works well.
