Just wondering if anyone can help with this issue.
The AUX port on my 2009 S40 works fine as long as there is a signal going to it.
When there is no signal going through the AUX port, I get static through the speakers when the stereo is in AUX mode.
It doesn't matter if a line is plugged in or not. As long as there is a signal (music or phone) going through it (even a 1Hz signal from a signal generator app) it works fine.
The moment the signal stops (i.e. the music stops or the phone call ends) there is static.
I tried a $10 ground loop isolator from Jaycar, plugged into the AUX port and then plugged an AUX cable into that. The static reduced but was not eliminated.
CD and Radio work fine, as does the AUX port when there is a signal going through it. But the moment I unplug the aux cable, the static resumes.
Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be.
Thanks.
