@jk071 JFYI I posted the details of 240 front ends, in 3 posts starting with this one below.

You should be able to re--use your 242GT flatnose hood
(EDIT - whoops - just read you don't have one - sorry). Flatnose bonnets, AKA "ALT 1" hoods - p/n 1315287-1 - are all the same from 75 to 85. Should be easy to find, but please let me know if you haven't found one by June, as I have a spare spare near Sydney, and I could be convinced not to bother bringing it back to Tassie with me. :)
I'm interested in doing something very similar to you with a spare 242 bodyshell I have (like you, I prefer the 1982 / Group A look instead of rounds). The Group A 242T uses a 1982 model front end - i.e. plastic bumpers, egg-crate grill (there are 2 versions, black plastic surround or silver stainless surround - either works), flatnose hood, and 3-piece upper bumper trim with 'hokey sticks - Group As used the black ones. If you're going full lookalike, you'll need 6-panel tails, too.
Just for some trivial useless info, the real Group A racecars used Canadian-spec plastic headlights, which were lighter than the LHD Euro-spec glass ones, and far more aerodynamically efficient than the ugly 4-square USA DOT LHD lights.
