thetrough Didn't stay sold for long... https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/Volvo-144-1974/SSE-AD-5939154/?Cr=0 https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/northcote/cars-vans-utes/beautiful-volvo-144-4cyl-2l-manual-1974/1210640009
dmc Yes it is. It was advertised here for a few weeks prior to going to the masses. I sold it yesterday after a few hours on carsales.com.au. The young guy that bought it could not hand over the cash quick enough, said it was a gift for someone. It all seemed quite odd as he did not appear to know anything about cars. The speed of the sale caught me off guard completely. Seems the gift did not go as planned. There was more today, spoke to some people and it may have a good home soon. And yes Paul, that is the car picked up when I dropped off those wheels to you last year. It has come a long way!
OlofPalme Is this a 1974 144? Thought the 1974 144 model was the only year with the large bumper bars.

dmc The front bumper on this one has been modified, the mounting holes have been relocated 20 or so mm forward moving the bar closer to the body. A small section of the mounts was machined out with a die grinder to clear the body. The rubber blocks were also removed. The engine has not been rebuilt. Cleaned up yes, tuned yes, rebuilt no. It came out of a 142 along with the 4 speed M40. It moves quite well, it is a great little car.
