Chasing a manual crossmember for a 140/160
I am aware the overdrive box has a different crossmember but either will do.

The auto and the non OD are the same. The OD one has a steeper angle where the mount bolts on.

I think I have a spare one from an auto if that helps.

I have just come to the following understanding.
There are 3 different crossmembers.
The 1st type is used in Auto and M40 140's and M400 164's
The 2nd type is used in Auto 164's
The 3rd type is used in M41 and M410 140's and 160's
It seems the 2nd type is the same as the 1st but has an additional plate/ box section welded to it and the 3rd type is similar again but pressed differently to avoid it fouling on the overdrive.
Does this sound correct?
Either way, I believe I can cut the extra plates off the 164 auto cross member I have spare and it will be correct.
