volvo1975 Wanted to buy drivers front window regulator ... no motor needed just regulator.. prefer riverina and surounds for pick up.thanks volvo 740
Angus242164 I have this one from an '88 740, but compare the photos carefully to yours, there are at least two different types, possibly three. One of the differences is the number of mounting studs.
Angus242164 That looks quite different to what I have, this has the number 6090 stamped on it. It's possible that it's compatible still, depending on what the other part of your regulator with the motor on it looks like. Do you have a photo of that?
Angus242164 Yours has four mounting studs rather than three, so mine won't fit unfortunately. What year is the car? Hopefully someone else here has something.
carnut222 I wrecked an 88 740T a while back. Will look to see if I kept the window regs and will get back to you.
carnut222 Sorry unfortunately I either turfed the parts or they’re sitting in a shed up in Wangaratta.
Major Ledfoot I replaced a French power window regulator setup with a (Bosch?) German one on the RHF door of The Noodle (YM 89 745) a while ago. The French one wouldn't close the driver's window properly; the replacement German one did. Something was bent or worn on the French unit. The problem wasn't caused by wear on the plastic slidey bits, because I replaced them and before swapping the mechanism and there was no change. The German mechanism was sourced from an 87 model 745 Turbo, so they appear to interchange on 740s. Later on, I changed one in a 940 door, and the 940 has a different clip arrangement to the 740s for attaching the regulator to the window support.
