It had a slightly warmed over 350 chev in it and 4spd top loader manual trans. It was a legitimately quick car. Sold it about 12 years ago to a guy here in Victoria, but not sure what happened to it.
I remember meeting the seller where the Spirit of Tasmania docks at about lunchtime on a weekday and driving it down Beach Road for the first time. I booted it in second gear past a pub with tables and chairs out the front and 3 or 4 guys lept out of their chairs and shouted "That was a bloody Volvo!! " Haha was a super fun car. Not sure about the Red grille though!

Just for interests sake, a fellow called Matt Hamilton built this, he owned Joes garage & built many a hot rod in his time. Story goes it was his mums car & after getting beaten at the lights by a Camry he built it up into what it now is. At the time it had a heavily modified 350 chev and ran consistent 11 second quarters. He sold it & some guy bought it for his girlfriend who was so terrified of it she quite literally never let the clutch out when she drove it!
A neighbour to my parents then bought it, I got to drive it & was horrified it didn't have power steering but otherwise was a fun car.
Was known locally as the "chevolvo" & I think was badged as such at some point.
I remember supplying the last Tassie owner replacement torque rods as it ripped them apart at some point.
Also built this crazy van!
And this is his bar with a Volvo in the ceiling..
