Pinin' for the Swedish fjords?

Unfortunately I don't have enough free weekends between now and September to bring either of those cars to be up to a standard where I'd be comfortable driving them on this sort of trip.
Maybe next year!
Rob
:-O There are 24 weekends between now and then Angus. How much work do they need?
Angus242164
The 760 probably needs 100 hours or so, but that's not really the issue, the problem is the weekends are taken up by house repairs and improvements, child related activities etc, so I've spent 0 hours on the 760 since December.
Vee_Que
100? I think that is a bit ott :p working bee would get it driving again!
Angus242164
I think it's pretty conservative actually, that includes making an MS wiring harness from scratch and tuning MS, rebuilding a gearbox etc.
If I just wanted it driving again it would have only been off the road for a few weeks, but that's not what I'm going for, I want it to be significantly improved in a number of areas, and reliable.

so do we explore options of, alternative location, or simply a time change?
if we go 2 weeks either way, we are guaranteed a better chance.
bigger towns, and places with caravan parks are always good?
for example, kristen and i were are Rods RATS and Rides in tatura (country victoria) the caravan park was right next to the local oval, and sports grounds. which was interesting. and i imagine would make for a fun filled weekend.

I don't want to change the date. 1) putting it in the school holidays was deliberate, it makes life easier for those who have kids, and 2) I think some people have already booked leave around those dates.

just options for getting this sorted. as it looks as though gerringong isnt going to work.
so a location change?
Dauntless
I figured it would be easiest to meet in Gerringong for whatever reason the location was chosen, but stay in Wollongong. Nobody has agreed or objected yet.
OldnDecrepit
I've been looking at staying in Nowra/Bomaderry as the accommodation options closer seem to be few.

Okay to be clear, the meet is not moving, the date is not changing. best accommodation options are in adjacent Nowra, which is 25-30 minute drive.
The currently-still-draft plan for the Sunday will involve us meeting in Berry.
