Eurosnob Saw this on GT the other day too. I've been in touch with the seller. Waiting to hear back on a mutually acceptable time for an inspection and test drive. If it's okay then I intend grabbing it. My cross country dream may come true after all!
Eurosnob Anything in particular to look out for other than what was mentioned in my other thread? I take it the manual versions are pretty much bullet proof?
Eurosnob It's AWD. I'll have a read of the service records in any case if the seller ever responds. They must have a real job or something ... yeesh!
Rob my biggest area of concern would be the angle drive... and more specifically the drive sleeve between it and the gearbox. not a massive deal to fix if it is caught early. I would buy it.
egads (she/her) Pretty much this. Engine massively leaking or shot suspension or AWD would be things to knock the price down but apart from that just buy.
Ex850R Smells of elderberries or dead hamsters?? BUY IT! You won't get one again fir a long time , unless you build your own. Trying to get my bro in-law to buy it so hurry.....
MormonSuicideBicycle EEEEEE. I feel like a schoolgirl riding down a bumpy road on a bicycle. If only I had money. Good luck to whoever gets it.
iceton1975 I have sold 2 manuals in the past 12 months, one gold and one blue, 2001 and a 2003 and we service 3 others, they sell within 24 hours they are better than the Autos
jrc I had a 5sp xc70 2000 model for a little while also. Family rebelled so I got rid of it. Went up to cairns that was in 2010. Good car no issues with it. The auto box was always the weak point and this car didn't have it! But I did buy a spare 4 6 spoke alloys from the wrecker 2 went with the car I still have 2 with (fairly worn) scorpions on them here in sydney if you want 1 or 2 get in touch and yes you can fit the full size spare in place of the spa saver if you pull out volvo's rigid foam .,,
Eurosnob It's listed in Gumtree as 'deposit taken' but not by me FYI. Something came up the morning I was going to look at it and I had to let the opportunity pass. ~bugger~
