Hi, my name is Bengt Bergman
I am 22 years older than my 144DL. My wife and I will drive it from Launceston to Cardwell in early June 2023. This old Volvo was way out of my reach back then. I turned SAAB. I own a lovely Saab 900 Turbo S 1993 that is my pride and joy. I also own this Volvo 144 . The Volvo is the car that my father would have bought 1974. Though, he traded his 1965 Volvo 123 in for a SAAB 99. Suppose that was the start of my Saab saga. My Volvo will travel as far as I can afford to go. It is a treasured old car bought by somebody who would have had to stretch his budget seriously to own it. He put 240000km on it and the second owner (His old mate) put 1800km on it. I am the 3rd owner and I intend to put a few km on it myself. She has new white walls, new timing gear, new radiator(ONS) , new everything that had to be replaced.
The Volvo is for sale anywhere along the way. I would love to see it ending up with a Volvo enthusiast.
I have been advised that it should fetch around $8 k ? Will swap for SAAB 96 or suggestions!
